A 944 is just half a 928 so it should be half as easy, right?

Heated garage? No, but it's a small garage so it warms up quickly. The bad news is that means we won't have a lot of space to work unless we leave the door open and park the car halfway in the garage.

Anyone have a space heater?

Hi all,

I have an offer for you all...

I have a heated garage, two jacks (one low racing style and one regular 4 ton) and 2 sets of jack stands, most common tools (but you should bring the timing belt specific stuff and any other of your favorites), shop towels, hand cleaner, XM radio, refridgerator for the suds, and could even rig up a TV to watch the game(s)...best part - I'm right down the street from your original location. I will be there cleaning my 944 probably and general tinkering. I was trying to talk my Porsche mechanic friend into coming out but don't know if he can make it. Plenty of parking for everyone.

Post here or call me in the morning 703-444-4665 so I can give you directions. I am near Sterling Blvd and 28, by Craven Tire and Sweet Water Splash.

Darryl,

Thanks for the offer, but it'll have to be a game-time decision. There have been some tentative "yesses" from here and another forum that seems to be currently offline so I don't know if everyone would get the message of a last-minute change. I'll see what people think tomorrow.

BTW, I made it home from PA without getting hit by a bus or something.

Daryl, that sounds like a winner. pm me your address. I will head to Brian's first but I definite would op for the heated garage since i probably have the most that needs to be done (cam tower gaskets and possibly a water pump and its cold out there today)

Since the temp isn't supposed to get above freezing today, I also think that this is a good idea.

Thoughts from the others?

Ok, here's what I'm thinking...

My garage is small but if there's only a few of us we'll have the room we need. If we start getting a big turnout we may have to go to Darryl's. Please let me know if you think you are coming, or at least if there's a good chance you may come so I can plan on it.

If we do head over to Darryl's, I'll print out some directions and leave them on my door. He's only about 5-10 minutes away from me so it won't be a major redirect.

BB.
