I would be interested in the fronts, but I have 924S knuckles and rotors and the car does not have ABS or a proportionment valve, is it an impractical job to convert over or can I dig up some junkyard parts and bolt it on? Im sure this has been asked almost as many times as 'can I bolt on a turbo'? but thanks to anyone who can set me staight on the idea!

ABS does not cause an issue.

thanks techno- that was the fastest reply ever - i think i like rennlist!! I thought that was the case with the brake conversion - I may not be able to squeeze 16" rims into the 924S without a clearence issue as the 215/60R15 barely fit as it is.

215/60/15 is kind of a weird tire profile. Stock size should have been 195/60/15.
You would need to find a late offset 16' wheel. The stock size for the OEM 16's is 205 in the front and 225 in the rear. You can squeeze up to a 225 in the front and a 245 on the rear if you wanted to. I am not sure how much tire you can get on the front and rear of the 924S however. I do know many people in my area run 225/50/15 all around with 15x7 phone dials. So i would imagine you can squeeze a 225/50/16 all around on a set of 16x7 and 16x8 wheels.
I would let someone who has more experience with tire and wheel sizes with the 924S chime in.. i never looked into wheels while i still had mine.

Hey pjburges - ever make it out to Fredericksburg? I grew up in Hutto and then later moved to Georgetown before moving to this area. I can actually remember when the Dell empire was a farmer's field...........

Let me know next time your out here and I will join you for a drive! I don't have any brake parts available, but I do have all the enviromental control stuff out of an early car that I will let go for cheap.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I knew if I asked the question, I would get some help.

One more tidbit. FYI, 944S models had rear brake proportioning valves installed right on the master cylinder, as opposed to the Turbo's remote location down in the passenger side front wheel well. Point being, if your new rear calipers tend to induce rear lock-up under heaving braking, I think you can thread a 5/33 valve directly between the master cylinder and the rear brake hard lines, if need be, since car doesn't have ABS.

Just a little info, Wilwood makes a front brake kit that has calipers that are equivalent to the 951 calipers that bolt right up to an n/a without changing the rotors, adding spacers or requiring 16 rims. They are on Rennbay. A future investment I will make I might add.
