Also, after last years Rennstock, I would rather wear sun screen than be wet and cold... though drifting the sweepers in the turbo was fun.

Ok, we can get May 26th. The pricing works out about the same per car if we have 10 or even 20 cars, so I am not worried about making a minimum. For that matter, I am not going to PUSH the track like we had to last year. Less cars means more time on the track for each person. A happy medium would probably be around 15 cars so.. I am going to shoot for that.
Now second. We had a big bon fire the first year which was awesome. The second year it got rained out though. Chime in here and let me know what you guys want to do. Do you want to do the bonfire / camp out thing or do you want me to look into setting up a hotel dinner banquet for after the track? I know most of you will be coming in from out of town so a group hotel might be nice. Its up to you guys so speak up.

You know - for a hotel I would be fine with a cheesy outside access type set-up...maybe even double up on rooms to save on costs. If we could block out a row so that all the cars could be bunched up together outside... Internet access would be nice - maybe a few folks have laptops they could bring in case we needed to look anything up.
Bon fire sounds cool - what are the chances of grilling out? Hamburgers/hotdogs/chips.....and beverages.

Oh,
bonfire = grilling out, staying up till 4am, beer in cans, late night golf cart rides in the woods chasing wildlife, etc.. If we do the bonfire thing anyone who wants to is welcome to camp out. 128 acres so pick a spot next to or away from the fire. If camping is not for you there "is" a hotel just up the road from my place up here. Its the Knights Inn. Wicked gross interstate hotel but your car WILL be safe. I think rates are around $35 a night.
Edit: Wireless high speed internet access next to the bon fire. I have my 20db gain directional hooked up so we are set.

I'm in either way, though being a retired Marine, I've kinda gotten burned out on the whole tent thing. Perhaps planning for the tent thing, and locking down some rooms would be a good idea. How close is the camp area to G-ville, or Ocala?

Well, if you choose the Knights Inn, its about 3 miles away. All farm roads and the likelyhood of you passing another car past 8pm on the way there is about .01% if thats what you are getting at.
If you are looking at Gainesville as a place to stay its about 15 min. up 75. My place is in "Micanopy" west of 75 if you want to map it.

Come on, ehall. I camp for a living too (army), as long as it's not dead winter in south korea (2 years ago, -14 degrees ) or the middle of summer in iraq..... i could care less.
