BBS E26 that came on the car...don't know specs, but previous owners had put two 7mm spacers on the front and 21 in the rear. Will be taking them apart and rebuilding to do a proper fitment
Victor Equipment Tsunami - no spacers. Fitment is perfect IMO and exactly the look I was going for on the car, like a 3.piece look but in a 1-piece
F 18x8 et 45 with 235/40-18 Nitto Invo R 18x9.5 et 49 with 275/35-18 Nitto Invo I run Invos on my supercharged 997, both my 928s, and now this 944. Cool tread pattern, great dry weather performance, very good wet weather performance, and not crazy expensive. I'll keep buying them for my sports cars as long as they keep making them.
On 225F/275R Sport Cups, currently off the car for winter. Winter wheels are 993 Cup II. I also have the Club Sport 16" wheels that came stock with the car, but they don't clear the big reds up front.

I sent you a PM. The previous owner of this car purchased them in the late 90's, but the invoice I have is through the shop and doesn't have a Fikse model number.
Here are a couple more pics for ID, if anyone is familiar with their OG model line...
Working on refurbishing a set of early offset phone dials. Had them widened to 9" on all 4 corners (Weldcraft, cant recommend highly enough) and will have them sandblasted and powdercoated. These will become my autocross/HPDE wheels (for now)
I am also working on refurbishing a set of BW Motorsports 3 piece wheels - I am not sure their exact name, some people call them Speedline replicas? Currently they are 16x9 and 16x7. I will take the rear lips and move them to the front and try to find some deeper lips for the rear. As you can see the fronts have almost no dish-which needs to be resolved! Polishing the lips really brought them to life. Hoping to widen these to 16x10 and 16x8(?) and use as street wheels.
Fronts when purchased Fronts when purchased Lip after curb rash removal with a flap disc. Lip fully polished and wheel cleaned up (rear). This lip will be moved to the front and hoping to find deeper lips for the rear. Not perfect but not a bad transformation either! Still need to paint the centers.

Needed to update my post here - the 275 rears don't fit with these widths and offsets. Driver side rubbed and actually cut the sidewall of the tires.
Dropped down to a 255/40-17 and no more rubbing with the same look and better balanced handling with the 235s in front. I didn't want to have to roll or grind the rear fender lips.

Just food for thought, rubbing issues can be alleviated by increasing negative camber - likely a cheaper option than new tires. Of course if you are dailying the car or putting on a lot of street miles, drastically increasing negative camber will affect inside tire wear, but going 0.5-1 degree negative to fit the wheels shouldnt impact tire wear tremendously, and will actually improve handling. So thats always an option if folks are having fitment issues

I had gone with the 275 because it's the same size I run on one of my 928s, so I just pulled those off and will install them on the 928 next year when it needs new ones.
My plan was to do exactly as you said and see if camber wouldn't resolve it, but the rear alignment was in spec so I left it as is and swapped the tires.
The 944 supposedly handes better without large rear tires that swing it toward understeer so I'm good with how it works out, but thanks for the suggestion.

Love this. Too bad there isn’t enough meat to be able to extend the face side to get a wider lip.
Because I am running these early offset wheels on my late offset S2 there isnt really any more room to push the lip out even if I wanted to. Right now, with some negative camber, they fit flush with the fenders and look fantastic.
The wheel was widened by adding backspacing so no additional spacing was added to the lip or front side of the wheel, and Weldcraft states they can only widen wheels by adding backspacing. But yeah, Im pretty excited to be able to have that OEM look while being able to have a wider footprint. For these wheels I had the 8" rears increased by 1" and the 7" fronts increased by 2". I plan on running Toyo Proxes RA1's in a 245/45/16

Been doing a bunch of reading, and it LOOKS like that 968 rims and some Boxter rims are a straight bolt on situation for a 1989 S2? I plan summer tires on the new rims, and winter tires on the OEM rims.
Admittedly, I am a TOTAL 944 neub................ Have had my 912 for many years, and have tons of experience and time in the Air Cooled years, but this is my first entry into the front engined water cooled 944/928 etc realm.
I'd prefer the black centered rims from E-bay, but see the classy aluminum wheel as well. Am also considering Fuch style, but I have them on my 912E, and looking for something different. Whichever way I go will be a Porsche rim.
