Bleucamaro:

1st: goal of car is to make it fast while still keeping it reliable. Nothing outrageous. 250hp at the wheel will be just fine...maybe a little more

2nd: I have a decent budget...enough so that if needed, I could buy another turbo.

3rd: lets just say you would'nt want me working on your car. I'm good for oil changes though!

4th: I'm in no rush

5th: I am willing to learn!

How do you like you ride?

I do know these chaps,,
http://www.porschetuning.co.uk/html/
Have done extensive work on a 968 SC .
There "test" car was putting out aprox 420BHP....
It has since been sold...

It might "cross over" from a 968 to S2.???

With not much mechanical experiance, and a healthy budget, I'd recomend getting the SFR kit and calling it a day. I believe the 9meister kit is similar so phonecalls to both places would be worth it.

I learned that the kind of performance I want from my 91 S2 I can only have if I go the turbo route. Instead of putting in a supercharge and then still wanting more, I'm better off just puting in a turbo and calling it a day. I dont think there are any supercharges out there that are worth while at this point. I dont forsee any in the near future either as the S2 is a limited production car and there arent that many upgrades you can get for them.

Are you talikg about swaping in a turbo motor or adding a turbo to your S2. If you're adding a turbo to your S2 are you looking at specific kits?

Thanks
Jeff

I'm talking about adding a turbo to my motor. No there arent any kits that you can buy. Actually thats incorrect. I think Power Haus has a "kit". There are a few options in turboing a 3.0L motor. Look into it. Its been discussed here many times.

there is no kit, they can do it for you, but it's gonna cost you an arm... I also have an S2 and have started compiling parts for my turbo project. Here is an idea of what parts alone will cost you if you go for average parts:

-2.7l 8 valve head $1500
-104/104.5 mm pistons $1400
-forged connecting rods $1000
-decent headgasket + studs $400
-dual port wastegate $400
-55lbs injectors $400
-rebuilt hybrid k26/8 $700
-3 bar fpr $70
-spec stage 2 clutch $800

plus engine management, plus IC and piping, plus exhaust and crossover, plus all required maintenance, plus plus plus

So, what is wrong with the SC-kit from SFR?

Nothing is wrong with it. Its just that I've decided to go the turbo route for more HP.

The SFR kit I had years ago came the Link MAP conversion kit. I don't know if Link still makes the kit but there are new and better options out now. Just make sure you tune it properly.

Did you like the SFR kit? How was the power? In your opinion, was it worth the $5500?
Ive been debating whether or not to save up for the SFR kit or do an S2 swap into my '83 944.

Isn't that Vic Elford's Porsche Prototype from like, back in the day (meaning, before I was born)?

How about a light turbo (~5psi)? A local has done two of them on NA's with an increase of ~70hp. His customers have had no reliability issues; one has had it for more than two years. FWIW, I am saving my pennies. More to come.
