Cobalt Blue is also known as Midnight (Dark) Electric (Luminescent, or Pearl) Blue. Porsche produced the 944/951 in Copenhagen Blue, a similar shade (without luminescence) during the 1987 model year.

Really?? That must be one very rare 951 in Copenhagen Blue..........I have never seen or heard of one..........anybody on this board have one (original color of course)?

 

Actually Midnight is a much darker Blue than Cobalt. Midnight looks almost black and turns deep purple in the sunlight Cobalt looks like the pictures and turns purple pink, Copenhagen is somewhere in between.

i had a blue 944. it was an '84 and the right front quarter was a different kind of subaru-blue (not factory color) and the door was another slightly darker shade of blue, but still.

my only regret is that i didnt keep it and repaint it.

the interior was in great condition and the motor ran really great.

 

That cobalt is really close to Zenith Blue offered on Boxsters and 993's and 996's. Zenith is one of my fave colors for sure. Almost bought a Boxster that color, and have looked at a C2S in the same tone.

But the sight of that Turbo 3.6 in Cobalt makes my pants fit kinda funny.

 

Whatever happened to Minerva Blue? I used to have a Minerva Blue 924 back in the 80's in Europe, I loved that colour.
