Default new to forum and car some ?

I am a proud owner of a 86 944T. I am new to the euro car thing. I have never had a turbo or intercooler. I just put the car away for the winter. My muffler just fell off. I was looking thourgh the forums to find the best set up for what I want. I would like to go either full or cat back exaust. Not sure about 3-4 inch or wastegate bypass. The option of cat or no cat. It seems like alot of the people don't run a cat. Not sure how I would pass emissions. Then lastly want are some good brands. I am leaning towards Lindse's. Sorry for all the randum ? Just looking for alittle help. This is going to be a street driven car with maybe a couple times at lime rock. I would also be looking for future mods with chips and intake.

You can go to a 3", but you are paying a lot of money for just sound. I have dyno'd a 2.5L Turbo with a 2.5L cat bypass pipe and stock muffler, and then immediately with a 3" Lindsey (no cat) with a magnaflow muffler. Gains were 4hp and 7tq on a mostly stock car as measured on my Mustang AWD Dyno. The dollar to hp gain is very little. Once you start putting down some serious horsepower, then the bigger exhaust may help out. For your application though, get a 2.5L cat bypass pipe and a new muffler for under 200 bucks.
