Default Were some of the nose panels welded on 85.5 & 86 cars?

I don't have a picture of my car or access to it at this minute but I DO NOT have 4 sheet metal screws on the top of my nose panel. Did some of these 85.5 and 86 cars have welded nose panels / header panels ???

I haven't seen one. I have had 3 85.5 and the nose panel was screwed on on every one.

Perhaps the welding was done aftermarket? Maybe a front end collision you never knew about?

My 85.5 build date is 4/85 and it has a bolt on header panel like all other 85.5>onward cars that I have seen. Me thinks something goofy is going on with your car.

All of the one I have seen 85.5+ came with screw ons unless they were hit and oxy/acetylene welded on. Factory welds are done with spot welders and pretty darn hard to duplicate without drilling/bending some metal in the removal process. I think your car has been fixed before.

!!!! now you just need to weld up all the spot weld holes and drill new holes in the 931 nose!

What is your source for a 931 nose?
Does anyone make an aftermarket panel that looks the same?
