Default Belt for AC delete

I bought an AC delete bracket from a member(Dave)on here awhile ago..I finally have some time to put it on but need to make sure I buy the right belt..Reason Im asking is because I remember reading that some years require a different belt than others.Maybe some years have more ribs on the pulley than others??Anyway, what is the correct belt for Daves AC delete bracket being used on an 84 944..Thanks..

That belt listed on Paragons site says that belt fits 85 1/2+..Does anyone know for sure if it will work on an early car?I want to be sure as I remember seeing threads on here about people having a hard time getting the right belt for an early car..

Dave-If your reading,do you know the correct belt to use with your bracket on an early car?

That is the newer style belt. I can't remember the belt for the early cars, but I know if you do a search you will find it listed out here somewhere.

Early belt is a Conti 5PK 736. I have one for my car right here in my hands.

That jogs my memory... earlies are 5 rib, lates are 6. As for the length (710 vs 736) as long as it is close to those numbers you should be fine. There is adjustment that can be made in the tensioner to make it fit.

One more question..Does anyone know if any of the major autoparts stores carry Conti brand belts??I dont remember ever seeing a Conti belt in stores..

If not,is there a cross reference number for a different brand belt like Goodyear,NAPA,ect???Thanks for the help so far..

My local AutoZone did not have a belt anywhere near that short. I picked one up from a rennlister who had an extra...
