Default '95 968 CAB KEYLESS ENTRY???

Just got out first 968 Cab and had a question

Just wondering if keyless was available on the '95 968's. Just got one and it has the central locking system but the previous owner did not have any remotes. My '97 993 has remotes and I'll check with my mechanic who drives a '95 993 to see if he has them.

Didn't know if it was even available on '95's.

I know I can install and aftermarket alarm to get keyless and I probably will do that but wanted to make sure it wasn't available and possibly on my car before doing that.

Thanks

central locking system = power locks. That's about it....

However, considering that the alarm is activated by the locks engaging with the ignition in the off position, it seems reasonable to me that a cheap aftermarket keyless entry setup would work in conjunction with the factory alarm rather than replacing the entire system.

I installed an aftermarket alarm system and replaced the factory system. The aftermarket system does central locking, open that hatch, flashes the lights, locks the doors when driving, etc.

If you browse clubstuttgart.net, there are a few guys that have done it and they may be able to help with wiring, etc. Good luck!

Installing a keyless entry system into a 968 is a very easy task, it ties right into the alarm / central locking system, it can also be tied into your trunk to pop it from the remote. Basically you pickup a Bulldog model#1702 found at your local Pep Boys for under $40 and then follow the instructions found in this thread 968forums.com link also for the trunk pop you will need a relay which you can either make or there is one for sale here, 968engineering.com link I also tied in my parking lights to flash when I unlock and lock using these instructions, 968forums.com link
