Default I give up on Black & Tan

For the last couple years I've been searching for a recover kit for my tan seats. Nobody seems to carry this color. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and go with the black kit and be done with it. Has anybody ever found a recover kit for the Tan seats?

These guys don't carry the Tan (or as Porsche calls it "Light Grey")????

I've planned on recovering mine some day as well...I love the Black and Tan interior...still my favorite combination on our cars.

No, they have been unable to find a good enough match they are willing to sell. I've been checking with many other suppliers but it is usually black, linen, or burgundy....or some other off the wall color. Also, since I am a poor family man, I'm trying to find something I can afford to do myself.

buy two crappy seats for pocketchange, Recover the seats in black, sell them, and then save the money waiting for a nice set in the color you want to come out of a wrecked car or something.

Looks like they have several shades of 'tan' available.

What is wrong with your seats? Are they ripped or torn? What color are they linen or cashmere/champagne?

Passenger side isn't too bad although it does have a small cut. The driver side is coming all apart at the seems on the seat as well as the usual wear and scuffs. I don't know what the actual color is. It is darker then linen. Here is a picture.

Only way to find out is to call Tony (I think his name is) and ask him. They are great to work with and the products are very well crafted. They did the seats in my avatar years ago.

another option would be to save up and get a pair of sparco's in tan...I think they make an adjustable seat in tan/black accents. A little more expensive, but it'll shave a little weight off too...

There are some very nice Cashmere 993 seats on ebay. Start at 1k and up. Updates the interior a lot.

I sent an email to these guys who sent me leather samples of their colours just for the asking. One of the samples, can't remember their colour name, was a perfect match to my linen interior.

Default I'm getting pretty good at reapholstering...

I was able to get 1.5 recaro seats out of an old 924, pretty weathered.
took off the leather, ordered some hides from ebay (very inexpensive) and gave it a shot.

I have a lot of success with any crafts that can be done by hand.

The first seat back came out alright with some imperfections.
The second seat (whole) came out much better as I changed my technique as I continued. I ran out of tan leather and had to 2-tone the second seat with some black that I already had for a steering wheel recover.
I haven't figured out how to put the tiny holes in the cushion. I had no luck with the 'bead' type seam on porsche seats, then started over with the double seam (don't know the real terminology), and it looks really good.
Attached are some pics I just took of the second seat. I did surprise myself in my ability, and maybe I can be helpful to others.
