Default new kid on the block

hi all. my name is robert krupinski and i have the pleasure of owning a 1988 944. just some background information to start of with. im a 20 year old queenslander (best state in australia) and study aeronautical engineering at uni. i fell in love with the 944 some years ago when i saw one parked near the beach. it was hot and i wanted one. ever since then, dad and i have been on the hunt for one. about this time last year we found one on the gold coast. engine was in good condition and the interior was fantastic. problem was that there was a bit of panel damage and a few loose ends (the car had been in a crash). the po bought the car from an auction with the intent to do it up but this car got put aside as he bought himself a jag e-type. the passenger door was badly damaged and the rear window shattered. thankfully he sold it to us with second hand parts.

at about mid year, dad and i put the 'new' door in and sent the car to the panel beaters to get it straightened out and resprayed. i also imported a turbo valance and a 968 hoop spoiler from england. at this stage, i headed back to canberra for my studies and left dad to put all the pieces back together. lets just say, he did an amazing job. the car is spotless. the leather interior came up trumps and the car looks like it was brought back from the past. there were just four things missing; new steering wheel, new wheels, new sound system and tint.

i bought an isotta wheel from ebay, got 996 twists (255 on the back look fantastic and they fill they fill the rear wheel arch extremely well) from a Porsche dealership, a mate hocked me up with a decent sound system (we managed to put them in the factory locations to keep the stock look) and got an ex-yank who used to tint exotic euros to tint my car. this is final out come and her name is claudia.

i think that the shocks might be screwed so i'll have to take her to a specialist and get it sorted out. i might even lower her a bit.

i've been reading this forum for a while and would like to say that its great that this place exists and it has really helped me through this agonising year. so that's my story. i love my car and look forward to chatting to other 924/944/968 owners.

Looks awesome. The only thing wrong with it is the steering wheel on the wrong side. I can see how that could be any oversight.

Yeah you should get that fixed asap, it will throw off the balance of the car.
