Need help with placement of roof antenna
Car: 85.5 NA without a sunroof
I am going with a roof mount antenna that will be at the back and on center-line of the roof. However, I don't want to drill the hole into part of the frame or some other obstruction. Is there any recommendation on placement that will be a safe place to drill?
Thanks!

Go from the inside first. Take down the interior roof panel and you will see a little circle in the outer skin (by looking in another circle in the inner skin). That's where you want it. You usually have to drill a clearance hole below in to secure the antenna.
At any rate, work from the inside out. Drill a small hole first from the inside. Then go from the outside in once the pilot hole is drilled with the correct sized bit. Use tape over the painted area to be drilled to prevent paint from chipping/cracking.
