Yeah, BC insurance is expensive.
I come from Calgary. Most of my time growing up I heard about how cheap insurance was in BC.... until I moved here.
My insurance for both the golf and the 951 in AB is $2700/year, in BC it is $5600/year for the same coverage (no collision on the 951, highest deductibles possible on both, full coverage on the golf)
I got a quote from ICBC and I decided to take advantage of the student exemption while I am here..... the golf is now in my wife's name, and the 951 is off the road.

point is, ICBC blows and are full of a bunch of idiots who know nothing about cars
which is why im most likely going to get in ANOTHER huge fight with them about replacing the nose panel and bumper cover with NEW parts rather than them only pay to have the dents hammered out and the cracks bondo'd. trust me they are douches.
If i seem hostile, its because i am!

They are a bear to deal with. I was rear-ended by an ICBC driver in Calgary 3 years ago in my N/A
Find a good body shop, somebody who will honestly be on your side and does good work. There are a few of them out there, this should avoid the fight about bondo and new bumper covers.
If the original cover is cracked I would say replace, don't bother repairing.
