I need a new camshaft put into my 944 2.5 liter engine and have one that came out of my 2.7 liter. Will this fit? (the 2.7 came out of a 1989 944)

i believe the cam is different. Head and block is different- rest should be the same.

 

oh and intake runners are slightly larger at the head.

 

The 2.7 cam might be a nice upgrade for a turbo. The late 2.5NA cam is.

 

It's a different part number, but it will physically fit. Might be better, might be worse. The book I have shows they have the same specs as to when the valves open or close, but no measurement for max lift or profile. My book might be wrong too.
