Default why cant people be honest

"In stock" means "We don't have it but we will lead you on for over a week before telling you it hasn't even shipped"

I'm sick of this crap. Tell me when you know its not in stock so I can take my f'ing business where it will be shipped the same f'ing day you tell me it will be

so who can tell me where to get 4 exhaust guides under $30 shipped by Saturday. else I'm done with the car and will sell it NOT running because after Saturday I've got no more time to work on anything for a while

For my passat I bought 2 new wheels to replace to the set of wheels I bought that had 2 bent wheels. I paid Nov. 18. Still don't have the f'ing wheels. Guy told me he sent them and doesn't know whats up then hes gone.

I haven't had a car for 2 weeks because of this **** I hope that explains some frustration. School and work are REALLY easy to get to without a car when both are 30+ miles away

sometimes the cheapest price is not the one you should be buying from.

try one of the reputable suppliers. the reason that they charge a little more is for the service they provide.

Why not take it to a machine shop. They should be able to pop some guides in no problem.

for $30, you should be able to get a whole new flange welded on at an exhaust shop... ask around the shops near you for guides.

I work at a machine shop..installing the guides is no problem. We are also the only machine shop in the area (we do vintage and race rebuilds, rent out our forumla atlantic reynards, etc) but none of our suppliers can have porsche stuff and when they do its only 911 stuff.

I ordered the parts thru a reputable place too. I've done lots of business with them but this just really got me mad. I missed class tonight when I could have taken the 944 to school or my passat if the guy sent the wheels.. .

just venting

Iam at 944online will tell you if he has the part. And, if you call by mid afternoon FLA time, he can have it on your door in the morning if you are willing to pay for the fast shipping.

Just because it is a "stock" item doesn't mean it is always available. I own a distribution business (not auto) and try to forecast and order based upon demand but there is always the possibility of manufacture outages and demand surges. Additionally, since 9/11, imports have gotten slower to ship and are experiencing longer delays in customs. In some cases I have had to double my inventory levels (and dollars) to maintain an acceptable (95%) fill rate.

did you buy the passat wheels from someone on the Vortex? Where is the guy? Maybe someone here or on the Vortex knows him.

Please don't say TMT McCoy...

Funny - I was thinking the same thing. They use to advertise "cash" prices with surcharges for Cr. Card purchases (3% additional fee). I bought a WP for my '86 944 back in the day from them and they were misleading everybody with the advertised price being "cash only"... like anybody who buys from them in a catalog is going to pay cash

I call'd and raised holy hell with them and they still wouldn't refund the 3%. I know it was only like $10-15 but it was the principle. I call'd my Cr. Card company and we finally made an arrangement for me to send the part back and they paid shipping. Gotta love Citibank, when you they are on your side it's a good thing!

Wow...how long ago was that? All of the credit card companies, therefore the card processors as well, put into their terms of service that NO surcharges for credit card usage are allowed, period.

Remember back in the early 80s there was a cash and seperate credit price at gas stations? Yeah....it went away by the late 80s by force, and anyone still doing it is risking losing their CC processing. So if you really don't like them, call Vias/Mastercard/AmEx or whoever direct and tell them they have a vendor charging a CC surcharge. They won't be able to offer CC service for much longer.
