damn, the dash on my late 944 looked almost perfect until I saw the one small crack just starting to form.

is there anything I can do to stop the crack from getting bigger and spreading?

Default funniest part of the ebay ad

"INTERIOR:

There is a small crack in the dash, but otherwise it just has the normal wear and tear that you would expect."

It's not a dash crack, it's a dash chasm.

it's the area code for Denver.

It's also 303 Aerospace protectant. it's made for vinyl, rubber, leather, etc. Basically, it's like Armor all, but good. it really does protect, it doesn't dry out dashboards, and it has an SPF 20 sunscreen in it to keep things fresh. the Turbo has no dash cracks, and I fully intend to keep it that way.

Where do you get it... I'm assuming online but do any regular stores carry it?

I never thought of sunscreen on dashboards but that makes perfect sense. But there's a simpler, low-tech way of protecting the dash which has been around for decades, which seemingly nobody employs anymore.

You know those folding windshield screens? The 2-circles that spring open and you twist it to fold it away? I have used them on every car I've had, and I force my family to use them too. I've not noticed any new cracks form on any car. The only sun exposure the dash gets is while I'm driving, and that's a lot less time than all the time the car spends parked. I suppose if I use the dash sunscreen, it will be protected ALL the time!

Note that the folding screen stops sunlight from hitting the dash, the seats, the carpet, all that stuff, minimizing discoloration and damage. I also keep the rear cargo shade extended all the time, in an effort to shield the hatch carpet from discoloration.

I don't have any dash cracks either and that is exactly what I use. I do have some discoloration along the edges due to sun damage but no cracks yet. Then again she lives in a garage but at home and work so only sees the sun when I'm out driving or running errands.
