Barrs worked pretty well on my volvo's radiator and it hasnt blown uip or started overheating yet. thats all I can really tell ya. if it's a gmc itll prob be worth a try. just be aware that it will look like you have milkshake coolant until you flush it. It doesnt say you need to flush though. I believe seal up and some others you do need to flush the coolant afterwards.

I had MASSIVE problems on my old Z-car where the PO used some of that stuff to fix a radiator coolant leak. It clogged up the heater core and thermostat. Many of late hours were spent cursing that stuff.
If you do use it, just be sure to follow all of the directions. Or you could just replace whatever is leaky

back in the day GM put a few pellets of that stuff on the bottom of every radiator when on the assembly line. reduced warranty claims significantly!!

I know this involves *work*, but that intake manifold gasket might not be all that expensive . . . If I had to rely on the vehicle, I'd just fix it right.

Be careful with any sealants that have bentonite (fine clay) in them. They can really clog a radiator and the bad part is it doesn't fail until your engine gets real hot in the Summer. I had a Maxima the dealer had installed some in before I bought the car. No problems in the Spring until the car got hotter than usual and then the stuff loosened up all settled in the bottom half of the radiator core. The dealer had to replace the radiator and heater core because the clay baked on so hard they couldn't flush it out to clean it.

I only keep a bottle of that stuff in the car for emergencies. I would never use it otherwise.

I was at Canadian Tire the other day and heard a person at the parts counter asking if the cooling system sealant would fix cracked hose The horror!

I've used the Barr's Coolant conditioner in my Mercury Mountaineer for a long while now, stuff seems to be great.
