Default MOMO hub problems!

I bought a MOMO hub for my new wheels, but is doesnt seem to fit with the turn signal/cc/lights unit on. The piece that protrudes from the back of the adapter has no where to fit! also, the back of the adapter has a contact ring, I assume for the horn contact (already ordered that 928 part), but but the light stalk unit has a ring also. Did I get the wrong hub adapter?

The 7004 adapter is supposed to be for the late cars, the 8010 is for early cars.
Having said that, people have successfully used the 8010 on late cars by rotating it 180 degrees. Is this on your Turbo S? There would be extra contacts for the airbag but I've not seen the insides of an airbag car so I wouldn't know what it looks like.

Ok, I dont think this has anything to do with this post, but im going to post it up anyway sense it caused me many hours of frustration...

When I put in my momo hub, My driver side turn signal stopped working... could not figure out what was wrong.. ripped allthe wiring apart, fuse box, blah blah blah.

Turns out my airbag turn signal stalk was not working right with my non airbag wheel, and had to be switched to a non airbag stalk. What a bitch. Something to look out for if you start having wierd electrical problems

Good luck man

Heh... I switched back from a Momo to a stock airbag wheel, and now the cancel only works if I'm turning right. Man, I always used to laugh at the idiots who drove for miles with their turn signal on, but after doing it a couple of times, I learned my lesson...

Speaking of which, why is it that the 944s are the only cars I've ever found that don't make a click with the turn signal on?

I beleive the 944 has a timed relay instead of a bi-metal flasher. The bi-metal works by overheating a contact until it warps and then loosing contact it then cools and flexes back contacting again. Thus, your clicking noise.

Getting the cancel to work has to do w/fitting the hub adapter in properly & also right side up as opposed to down. I had mine in wrong forever & finally figured this out- still, I have to turn the wheel a bit more than I used to to get it to cancel, but this might be due more to wheel size... The horn is another prob. There's a write-up on Tom Pultz's S2 site that helps w/this... it can be a serious PITFA to get working... if anyone really needs it, I can dig up some old threads where several of us went through hell to figure it all out. The 1988 Turbo S is also different from the 1989 in several ways & this added to the confusion....
