Default Saratoga top

Anyone know where to get a new gasket seal for a Saragota Glass top? I have the honor of having one that is leaking. Drainplugs are clear. Had my daughter sit inside the car while i poured water over the top. She didn't like it that she got wet, but we were able to find out where the leak was comeing from. so far my searches have come up blank on a new seal.

thanks so much all!

Herb

Haha... mine is newly rebuilt... and painted...
But it has an oil leak somewhere around the balance shafts... I would seriously consider that trade at this point LOL

The only place Ive even seen these tops is on ebay for a bajillion $$. Definetly have never seen a seal

Maybe you could try emailing Iam at 944online. If that fails Im sure my man at sunset porsche could get one for you no problem. Give him a call. If sunset cant get it, Ill give you a cookie .

Good luck!

Not bad for only paying $1200 for the car. Couldn't believe it, also has the LSD and full leather interior option. now if the PO hadn't removed the PS pump and resivour i would be in much better shape.

What year is it? If it's a 1983, it may have had manual steering from the factory. That's pretty desirable, considering that the PS racks and hoses leak with age.

well right now it does have manual steering....PS pump, resivor are gone, rack is ready to go and half the hoses are missing.

Its an 85.5 with the carpet now gutted, new set ordered and dynomat being installed. Looks like the seats are going to have to wait though. Appears the oil cooler is now shot.

Here is what I did for mine. Lay top upsidedown on bench. Take black RTV and fill in "trough" in old seal. Smooth and allow to dry. This just builds back up the compressed area of the original seal but does keep the water out. Good luck.

If I were to eventually sell this top, can I just put the metal top in? Might consider selling it since I need to get the oil cooler and motor mounts done now.
