Length of manual intermediate steering shaft?

Length of manual intermediate steering shaft?
does any one have one from manual car they can measure? Or even a stock powersteering one so i can comepare the length from my 931

I wish I had labeled my parts better -- I've got a couple of intermediate shafts and one of them is from a 944 manual rack (I think the other is from a 924 manual rack)..... The right one is either 16 1/4 inches or 17 1/4 inches.

I think that's about right. IIRC the manual shaft is about 2" or so longer than the power shaft. I don't have a spare manual shaft laying about to measure at the moment, but I think that is correct.

I will measure the intermediate shaft from my 83 when I get home... if I ever get out of this stupid meeting.

OK well As i noticed in the pic of the manual rack on the 944 the length of the shaft sticking out of the rack is like twice as long as the one on the 931, the splines on the 931 rack are just above the plastic cover
