I wish I had labeled my parts better -- I've got a couple of intermediate shafts and one of them is from a 944 manual rack (I think the other is from a 924 manual rack)..... The right one is either 16 1/4 inches or 17 1/4 inches.

I don't know if measurements from my stock 1988 951 power steering shaft is relevant or not, but it's 15" even from the ends of the u-joints.

I think that's about right. IIRC the manual shaft is about 2" or so longer than the power shaft. I don't have a spare manual shaft laying about to measure at the moment, but I think that is correct.

I will measure the intermediate shaft from my 83 when I get home... if I ever get out of this stupid meeting.

Four days of having my code reviewed on a 3/4 million dollar project, by one guy who doesn't write code and has no comprehension of current computing standards.

Oh how I long for some time in the garage. Work sucks.

Not quite. I'd say closer to just a little over an inch, but not much. You should know Tifo, I gave you one.

OK well As i noticed in the pic of the manual rack on the 944 the length of the shaft sticking out of the rack is like twice as long as the one on the 931, the splines on the 931 rack are just above the plastic cover
