Default The Call Goes Out- T-belt Help in Sacto (or NorCal) Area?

as titled. i just put my order in for a t-belt and balance shaft belt. i was going to hold off until 40k-ish, but i can hear the belt tapping against the covers on a cold startup, and i dont want to risk it.

the whole front end was resealed at 104k (last t-belt replacement) and i'm thinking (hoping, praying, etc) that this will probably be just straight belts and maybe a thermostat.

if anyone can offer any help, or tools, i can offer pizza or BBQ depending on weather.

...---...

i'm planning on this weekend or the weekend after, depending on how soon the belts get here.

TIA.

Juan,
I'd love to help but you know the issues I've gone through in the last 3 days. All I can offer is the tools. It's really not that bad. The BMW is a bitch compared to a 951. Hopefully you can get at least one person who has done it before. If you do get help have the car already jacked up in front enough to at least slide underneath to get the accessory belts off. The tools are at your disposal if you need them. I just can't supply the physical help at the moment. I hope you understand or I would be glad to assist. The BMW head is toast, theres a crack in the head between #1 and 2; Ol Pokey is going to the pound hopefully for adoption. My life is at a 5 year low point to say the least.

I'm way behind on wrenching stuff for my own fleet -- but I can definitely offer tools and misc parts. If it happens on next Sunday, I might have some free time, so give me a hollar.

thanks for the offers steve and joe.

steve- dont worry about help, i know you're stuck with a bunch of busted kraut wagons and what i'm guessing would be a very mad wife.

someone broke the interweb here at work, and i was down until like, noon today.

and last night, i wasnt online cuz i had to carve pumpkins.

i'm just gonna borrow some stuff from esteban there, and i think bill may be coming over, so it'll complicate things with 2 inexperienced, 6'5"+, under-30's, akward guys working on german cars.

this weekend or the next weekend depending on weather, cuz i dont have a "garage" just a tool shed and a long-*** driveway.

You didn't post for almost 24 hours -- I was starting to think you got into an accident or something....

Garages are overrated. You can easily do a t-belt job in a driveway. Though a little shelter from the elements is nice....

well, it gets too hot in a garage for me. i'd rather do stuff outside, it's just that my tree likes to drop leaves and i'm hoping it doesnt rain.

oooooooooh, just got my paycheck.

i think i might be doing a MAF install and wires and a new coil while i'm in there........

wow 11 minutes went by and no one has answered with Vitesse yet. I have no recommendations but I like my Scivision...........if I change my turbo to the Super75 I will probably use the LR MAF.

that's where i was going.

since i'm sticking with the 26/6 or possibly moving to 26/8, and i'm just looking for quicker spool, better response, etc, does the scivision require a piggyback? my understanding is that even the LR MAF's require a piggyback

I hadn't heard that a MAF required a piggy back. The Scivision doesnt need one.

Hey Juan, what parts did your order anyway? I suppose I should do that before something tempts me to spend all my money otherwise... (currently feel like fixing the toyoder's suspension after a weekend roadtrip of 1000mi+).

It looks like its going to start doing the rain thing in the next couple of days - if so I've got the garage on the house we could use, but we'd be farher away from Steve and the tools and whatnot.
