My old 87' 944na had this done to it when I first bought it. I thought it was cool for the first few weeks of ownership and then got sick of it and luckily was able to clean the black paint off and reveal the still glossy met. grey underneith.

My verdict is, yes it looks good, but its not as nice as having your factory color there.

A trm black looks the best...A company called SEM has it . you can get it at good auto stores.

SEM is really good stuff. Back when I had my red n/a I repainted all the trim pieces with it and the car looked 100 times better.

I can also vouch for SEM paint. I used their vinyl matte black paint on an interior to successfully change from brown to black, and I also used the same paint (but glossy) to paint some exterior parts on the 928, like the door handles and little hidden edges here and there.

Photoshopping makes it look blacker than it would in reality. Someone did this, but I can't remember who.

No offense, but painting that section a different color than the car looks like poo-poo. I understand why Dan did it, and his is at least close to the color of his car and will be the same color when he does a total repaint. But on a red or white car, ugh.

I disagree.

But then, you know what they say about opinions...
