So far, it seems the exterior committee is getting more done than the interior and mechanical committees! lol I saw the car on Sunday when Mike and I took breakfast to the guys at the body shop, and yeah, its looking very nice!

Jim, the owner of the body shop did two tours in Viet Nam and is excited to meet you.

I'll post some more updtaes on the car soon, but we've decided no more pictures until the "reveal" (can you tell my wife watches those awful extreme makeover shows?). We'll tell you all about it tho!

Regards,

It's actually Tim, but you were close! Typing on the road again?

lol... That was supposed to be a message TO Jim, not about Tim, altho I can see why you'd think that. Typing while driving is dangerous. I don't condone of such things, that would be like driving through the 435 construction zone at a high rate of speed. (is there a "look away while whistling" smiley?).

Regards,

Ummm... Oops! My bad! And as for this 435 thing, I don't know what in the world you are speaking of!

Car is back from paint Since we aren't giving any more pictures until Jim sees the car in person, you will just have to use your imagination. I will bolt on a bunch of the body parts tonight!

I hope to meet as many people as possible when we come up for the car. Meeting a fellow veteran will be an added bonus.

Hi: I just got a note from John D. (hi Jen) about Jim and Candy. I'm on the Gen/996/and OT boards and haven't been on the 944 etc. board for years. I had a stroke in 2001 and the Rennlist response literally kept me going. Maybe that's the reason.

Anyway, I'm just hearing about Jim and Candy and, my heart just sank.

Jim and Candy, if you read this, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I don't have any 944 parts or anything that would fit a 944 so my question is, is the paypal email address that DanD mentioned back in October still operative (dan10101#pacbell.net) ?

Is there anything special you need for Jim's car? If so let me know what and/or how much you need and I'll paypal it down. Don't be bashful!!!!!

My thanks to John D. for pointing out this tragic situation..

John, would it be appropriate to put a sticky on some of the other forums...maybe just OT and General.

Please let me know what I can do!

It worked for me a week or two ago.

Sorry to be so late to reply. A busy time of year.

Yes the paypal is still as you show above. "@" of course. We feel we may have enough to complete the Cooper project. We're still accepting donations, in however and any excess received from now on will be deposited into the RennWish account for the next project.
I think Scott is good on parts. They were going to order the remaining parts needed so the job could be completed.

Detailed updates are being provided on http://www.kcws.org/
as the KC Wrenchers do there thing.

Thank you for your concern and offer to help.

Ok guys, we have said we are not going to include any more pictures until the car is done, but I just can't help it.

A box showed up, and was quickly inspected by the shipping/receiving manager.

I won't post the entire wheel, but here is a little sneak preview. I (and I speak for the entire KCWS) can't express enough gratitude to Paul Champange for his work on the steering wheel. It is better than we could have ever imagined. If you guys need any leather work done, PLEASE give him a chance at your business, you will not be disappointed.

Maybe your shipping and receiving manager will keep the Cats away from that nice leather beauty.

Heck, I'd probably stick my nose in there too..

Thanks Paul! Nice touch...

You are all very welcome,

in all honesty, my wife Linda deserves the credit. She is the only who hand laces the steering wheels.

Hope it puts a smile on Jim's face when he grabs it
