I'm very sorry to hear this news. although I never had the pleasure of meeting Jim, I had the honor of working on his car. I wish the best to Jim, Candy, his family and friends. God bless.

I'm on my way to Portsmouth NH from KC and my wife just called me with the news. I'm really at a loss of what to say...
I have had the priviledge of knowing Jim for the last ten years. God bless ya, Jim, you are one of a kind and you will be missed. You will always be my friend and in my thoughts.
One of Jim's lasting contributions was inadvertently helping us to come up with a name for John D's charity foundation. If y'all can, please contribute something, anything, to Project RennWish in Jim's name and honor, so that Jim's memory can live on and help others. Go to www.rennwish.org, and you can donate through paypal, or find the info to send contributions to.
I'm going to be driving in silence through this particular night.
Regards,

I'm so sorry to hear this. I only worked with Jim one day on his 944 but I could tell he was a truly unique character. What you guys did to bring his car back together was amazing and a tribute to a great person. He was so proud of that infamous Cooper Cup it was on his coffee table!
I couldn't see how to donate in Jim's name using the Rennwish link but it all goes to the same place.
RIP Jim and may your roads be smooth and fast...there's no radar in Heaven.

It was a pleasure to help return his car to it's former glory. Very sad to see someone close to the 944 community go like this. Wherever Jim is at right now, I am sure he is making that place a better place to be.

It's sad to hear the news. I'm glad he's not in pain anymore. Jim was a great guy and a great friend.
Candy, we know you'll miss him, you guys had something real special.
There's lots more I'd like to say, but can't put them into words. Cancer sucks..

Tim and I made it out to the Rancho Los Gatos a few times to help Jim when he was struggling. We'll miss him and will keep him in our thoughts. Sent a e-mail from the list to Candy as that was where I first got the news

Coming off the track with my blown engine on the trailer pales in comparison tonight to the sadness I feel over the loss of someone, I knew very little of though I have a great admiration to. Jim and I corresponded a few times since my wife was a cancer survivor....every question he had was concerning Candy and what he can do to help her while he battled this disease. His servant leadership was very evident in his love for his wife. I have prayed to God for you all and I know that Jim is in peace and in heaven. I have faith in that. We will see you again Jim and I look forward to someday meeting you personally.
Candy we send our love and if we can support you in absolutely anyway we will. Our prayers continue. Please stay in touch with us. You mean a lot to us.

Der Cupmeister
I just returned from dinner with some long lost friends to see the note about Jim Cooper, our "Der Cupmeister" passing on.
I never met Jim, and it wasn't until the link to the forum picture of him with his restored 944 did I have a clue as to what he looked like.
It is so sad, and I am sure Candy's heart is broken.
The melancholy is overwhelming. Damn, shut the servers off for a few.....
