No automatic reset of turn signals with Momo steering wheels (?)
I installed a Momo steering wheel with a Momo adapter into my 85.5 944. Everything was fine, but the steering wheel would not reset/clear the turn signal after the turn (when turning the wheel back to straight).
My mechanic and I verified that the little plastic signal switch in the turn-signal assy lever IS working fine. It seems that with the Momo adapter, there is nothing to hit the plastic switch back to the neutral position after a turn. My mechanic said that the only choices are to (a) go back to stock, or (b) find a new turn-signal assy lever that can accomodate the Momo steering wheel (in the UNLIKELY event that one even exists).
I have found nothing on this topic, as related to Momo steering wheels, using the 'search' function. Surely, I can't be the first to find out about this?
Any help or guidance from your fine wisdom would be heartily appreciated.

One is for early cars, the other is for late cars. The number is stamped on the top of the adapter, near the column as it is mounted on the car.

I had the same problem until I noticed the huib that cam with the Momo wasnt installed correctly. The hub should say "TOP" on it when installed correctly. Double check the hub.

Yes, mine works- it did not for a long time, but upon pulling it off & installing a spacer, I must have replaced it correctly, as chitown has said- dbl check, but it should have a tab & if installed right, it should work...

mine works fine- if you used the adapter for an early dash it will not cancel- if you use the late on an early you will have a dash fire...ask me how i know!

Sounds like your shop put the hub on 180 degrees out.
There is a flange on the bottom of the hub which is the piece that cancels the turn signal after completing the turn. On the early (1983-1985/1) cars, the flange is supposed to be on the right hand side of the steering column. On the series 2 (1985/2-1992) cars, the flange is supposed to be on the left hand side of the steering column.
Try removing the hub from the steering wheel and rotating it 180 degrees before installing it. That should fix the problem.

If you cant get the momo hub working, a mk1 VW rabbit hub should work. Mine is a sparco, and the turn signal cancel looks exactly like the part on the OEM wheel.
