I just put on late offset 9" wides in the rear, but i havent put the 1" spacers on(86 951), and im noticing in turns some kinda of sound. not exactly sure how to describe it, but its a "running" sound.
Look to see if there are any marks on either the tires or the panels on the car. If there is, you're rubbing.
Since he is talking about an early offset car that he hasn't put the spacers on yet, that means it is rubbing on the inboard sides of the car, probably not the body panels (outboard side).

You'll have to take the wheels off to check for the rubbing. At that point, you should just go ahead and put the spacers on to stop any rubbing. From a aesthetics aspect, the car would look much better with the spacers on there anyway.
