Default A/C delete belt info

Alright guys, i installed an aftermarket A/C delete over the weekend and me being the smart guy i am, but all done and realized i dont have a belt for it... oops! I called my local autoparts store gave them the year, and belt type, and asked if they had one shorter. He did everything he could to not laugh, nor did he have any info on where i could get one.

So i come to the people that i should have asked first

Its a 84, so i have the 5 "ribbed" belts. I did a quick string measurement to the tune of 26 inches. Now, do you all know where i could get belts like this?

thanks!

Mine is a 6-rib, but the length should be close to the same if not exactly the same as yours.

conti-v multirib 6 PK 720mm

Alright, so I tried the K050330, the K050316 and neither fit. They were both too long

So I'm going to try the K050260. What do you all think? I know its a 5 rib belt and its about 26 inches long.

Ross,

You need a 1000mm belt for DD's kit. Gates should make an equivalent.

Actually a 725mm was the one i needed

part number is K050280

Anything in the K0503* series was WAY to long, the alternater would hit the frame rail before it would get tension. After 3 off the shelf belts i ordered one and it came in today. Now all i need to do is pick up some hardware to mount the tensioner and I'm good.

I must have a weird car or something.. but i know I'll be carrying a spare belt where ever i go!

Thanks for all the help guys!

I would guess that as long as the belt doesn't "wobble" too much in the long spans, you're good.

I tried my ghetto AC delete the other night and the belt literally flew off the pulleys. Guess I shouldn't have cheaped out on the cool shiney bracket...

You need the P9201 special tool to tension the alternator belt. Just kidding!

Just make it tight. maybe 1/2 inch of play. as long as it doesn't squeal, it's fine.
