Default DESPERATE HELP : Boxster Rims

Hey guys,
I'm looking at purchasing these rims for my 944 86, and I have been advised by a Porsche wheel place in New Zealand whom make spacers, that the rims will be a direct fit. I can' t get in contact with the seller for days now so I need some answer because i need the rims ASAP. My ofset for my 86 I believe is 23.3mm and these rims are coming of a porscha boxster 1998-2001 model.

Heres the link to the rims: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Porsche-Boxte...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks

I don't think they will fit your offset. Get the wheel numbers and check the link below. From what I see in 17" boxster, they were 55/40 offsets.

Thanks for the site beab951... Obviously then they wouldn't be a straight fit... but spacers will make a fit possible?

Also just wondering would it be bad for the ball joints putting 17" rims on my car. My car has Koni Adjustable suspension on the rear so yeah just wondering if its a danger to the ball joints?

Were they these rims. The offset and tire sizes was as follows: 205/55 R16 89H M+S 6J x 16 50.0 front 225/50 R16 92H M+S 7J x 16 40.0 rear I used two inch spacers all around and it fit and looked great. I had to lose the stock 944 spacers for a better fitment. I thought they would look best anthrasite or black and did not want to invest. So, I traded them for a nice set of cookies and a rear valance.

Bottom line, IMHO, they fit with spacers and should be powder coated darker. They are very light too.

Hope this helps.

Do a search with:

Key word = wheel 17 spacers
User name = danno
date = any

It will take a long time to go through all the hits. One comment, the spacers on the front will be large, I had problems getting a spacer that would fit the 86 front hub without grinding out the entire center section. Then, you didn't have the center alignment lip on the spacer to align the wheel. I just used the 993 rims on my 87 and I am in the process of converting the 86 to 87 offset so I can share a common set of rims. My advice is to get wheel designed with the correct offset, big spacers are a pain since you have to replace the studs and get them to fit over the large front hub that the 86 has. One of the better links is below.
