Default Wheel polishing & lug nuts

I just bought some phone dials for my 944. They need to be cleaned and polished. What do I use to polish them? I also need some new lug nuts. Anyone know of a good place to buy some? The ones I have are kinda scuffed up. Thanks

Paragon or Pelican or 944online or Zims or......
Most parts places carry the lug nuts. You want the alloy ones, but they are ~$5-$6 each for new ones. Used ones can usually be had for $1-$2 each.

I am getting ready to polish the sewer lids on my 951. My lug nuts are all beat up as well, but I think to solve the problem (since I'm polishing the wheels anyways) I will just polish the lug nuts as well.
I think it would look good on polished wheels, perhaps you want to try the same?

*EDIT*
Oh, I forgot to mention, for polishing my wheels I picked up an aluminum polishing kit from Princess Auto. It was $35, and contains about 10 different felt bobs for a drill, and 6 different polishing compounds, from highly abrasive to jewelers rouge.

Vertex is probably cheapest on lugs. IIRC I got a full set of new alloys for about $45. Check the ads in Panorama and Excellence and you should find some for this price... way better than $125 for a set!

Vertex currently list individual lugs at $2.95 for alloy. Steel lugnuts are cheaper and often required for track use. Good luck!

On the topic of lug nuts, does anyone have any recomendations for lock nuts? I've got those bbs wheels everyone seems to have, so I need to find some that will fit under the center cap.

Mine came out well with spray aircraft Al stripper, then wetsanding with 400, 600, 800, 1000, and 1500 grit sandpaper and WD-40. Scuff with steel wool and polish. Took me about 2 hours a wheel. I have a set for sale, if anyone is interested.

Why WD-40? Why not just wetsand?

WD-40 acts as a lubricant and last longer than water but it does the same thing, and it smells good at the same time
