I contacted Sunset about getting a set of the manual aero mirrors (964-731-901-02). The mirror housings alone are $293.00 and you need to get the bases which fit the 944 style door which were abaout $38 each.

The 968 mirror kit (everything you need to convert to electric 968 aero mirrors) is $319 + shipping (944-731-901-00). Defenetley not as expensive as alot of people think.

I was referring to the mirrors but I dig the old school graphics too.

Even better on the original

You actually need to order the guts for the manual mirrors, just pulling the motor guts doesn't work so well. The manual guts allow you to position the mirrors and they stay (hope that makes sense).

Those look exactly like the 935-esque mirrors I testfitted on my car

Yeah, that paint scheme is pretty sharp on a 924...

FWIW, the weight difference between the 968 CS and the 968 motor is about three ounces. Also, the motors hold the mirrors in place MUCH better, the CS mounts can get jarred when you close the door, hit a bump, etc, requiring a manual readjust. This is personal experience talking here, go for the motorized ones if you are already wired for them, they are much nicer to live with.

Sunset sells the complete new mirror kit, motors and all, for around $320.00. Its a heck of a deal, in my opinion, especially considering that a lot of folks selling used ones try to get $400+ for them.

Regards,

Do the 968 mirrors bend in like the flag ones do if they get hit by something? Not that I run into things, but if I'd be spending that much money on some mirrors I'd want them to not be stationary. Seen my friends break enough mirrors.

Yes the mirror can rotate on the base, and the 968 power mirrors are still quite a bit lighter than the 944 flags. Those things are heavy. (Going off memory)

Yeah, don't know about the weight of the 968 mirror motors. I was only comparing the 968CS mirrors to stock 944 flag mirrors.

My 968CS mirrors have never moved from the position they were set for over any bump. I must have been lucky and got a good set.

Let me ask a stupid question:

Is that per side or for the pair??

Scott, when did you last check that cost because I remember it being quite a bit higher than that when I checked. The handles are cheap but the mirrors I thought went up a considerable amount...could be wrong though.

Sunset went up about 2 yrs ago. Maybe they came back down?

To me, nothing beats the look of the 968 mirrors/handles!
