Every manufacturer have their stupid moments and unlike Tifo, I just can't resist the temptation to post on this thread. Some people worship a particular manufacturer and I think that's just rediculous.
FWIW I don't worship any manufacturer, I am generally a "car guy", although at this stage in my life I am a lot less interested in cars than I have been in the past. I think every car has its shortcomings, some more than others. Right now I appreciate the build quality and the run-forever-with-little-maintanence traits that my two daily drivers have (Nissan and Honda). If a car can haul me, my racebikes, and my GF from point A to B and back again, with little fuss or drama, then I am very happy. If my life suddenly fell on hard times, like it almost did a couple months back, the 944 would be the first thing to be turned into a liquid asset.

I for one love porsches, but I also love old fords (see sig).

I would love to have a cayman S and a ford GT in same garage.

As has been said, there is no Uber-marque, everyone is "human" so to speak

Legoland, I have only been married about a year and my wife is saying the same thing. Now if I got a commercial storage lot to live on, my wife would probably bury me in it! I figure cars are better than a drug habit, although really not much less expensive.

1966 Ford Mustang GT 289 A-Code silver coupe/black pony interior 70,000 original miles. Emaculate. - FOR SALE
Cool car. Although, what does "emaculate" mean? Is that like "emasculate"? If so, I don't think that is a very good selling feature, and it would scare me off as a potential buyer .

The remaining 10+ in the street includes a 25 ft minibus towing a 24 foot enclosed trailer (over 50 feet and longer than most semis with a 40 ft container)and a Bronco with 16 foot trailer with a 944 (just a tad under 40 ft), which will not fit in just anybody's driveway in S. Ca (and yes I do have a 100ft+ long driveway). Ever since I moved here, no more ticket problems. Unfortunately, real estate here cost multiples of what they cost in Sacramento but I am sure my next property will be able to house more cars.

Some people worship a particular manufacturer and I think that's just rediculous. Try working on a Ferrari or a 70s Rolls Royce and you will definitely thank your Toyota engineers. Try rebuilding a twin carburetor smog monsters like an 85 Honda prelude.
This thread is worthless without pics!

Tifo, I didn't mean you worship any particular manufacturer as I was refering to the original post of the thread. I mentioned your post because I was trying to refrain responding to this thread and I wish I would only post something like what you wrote for your first post (though I am nowhere as creative as you - I often wonder how you think of those responses but I think its great). I know you are a car guy and I wish my turbo looks like yours when it grows up as your car has every "tasteful" upgrade IMHO. I tend to overlook the appearance of my cars as I like to tinker with the mechanicals of the car. Heck if I try to keep all my cars clean, I'd be busy everyday just doing that.

Funny. That's how I used to feel about my 83 944. I guess I've never experienced a Honda or a Nissan. Too late now. Fuel prices are so steep over here my daily driver is a Vespa!

Billthe3, don't forget we gave the world Bush.
Lego, so are you interested in selling some of your cars?

I don't know many 951s that could get within 10 feet of a new Vette when both are moving. No worries on that one.

What about torsion bars? Lemme tell you that in the thirties T-bars were pretty technologically advacned, they allowed for the most light weight suspension the world has seen. And quite frankly, I think that its amazing that the same general set-up has lasted for 60+ years.
