Default QUICK: NEED HELP

I left my keys in the ignition overnight, and the battery's dead. There are no markings visible on the battery, and the Porsche color scheme is leaving me a little uneasy. Is the positive terminal the one with the larger bundle of wires?

My positive is the one in the back. To verify, the ground cable has a lead going to a bolt on the front side of the battery box area. If you find that bolt or wire you should be able to follow it to the negative terminal.

Terminals are different sizes are they not? Negative one is bigger in Diameter and is the one nearest the front of the car?

Thanks to both of you. Todd, how have you been?

I'm now the proud owner of a new battery, but I can't get the old one out. Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing? Is the battery clamped down at the bottom between the two terminals, or is that only a clamp for the cabling?

I answered my own question: that is indeed a clamp for the battery as well. They make that bugger hard to get out of there, don't they?

I feel like an idiot, but I appreciate the help. Note to self: Porsche blue = everyone else's red.

She's purring nicely. Off to work...

Quick work! Maybe, spend more quality time under the hood.

In principle it sounds great, but I doubt you've ever met anyone more mechanically inept. The best I've done so far during this period of ownership is fix the back hatch release, replace a brake light bulb, and tackle the battery. Still, there is some pride in accomplishment. Oh hell...why not? Next weekend: TIMING BELT!!!
