Well it looks like I don't have a choice, I'll be buying the Audi 80.
Tonight on my way to class, I was driving my beater, a 1969 VW Baja Bug, and I blew my tranny. Pretty sure I broke the shift fork, was driving pretty spirited and going from second gear into third gear it got stuck in neutral, I depressed the clutch again as far as I could, and still couldn't budge the shifter. At first I thought I broke the clutch cable, but I pulled off to the side of the road and shut the engine off, and I still couldn't put it into gear. I bought the transaxle thats in it right now over a year ago for $100 out of a wrecking yard, guess I got my money worth, huh?

But I need something to drive untill I can put another tranny in, and the 944 isn't gonna last long. I did an oil change the other day on it, and the drain plug magnet was covered in shavings, and so was the bottom of the oil drain pan.
Looks like I'll be driving an Audi till I rebuild the 944
