Default ignition wires - installation

can I put dielectric grease on the outside of the rubber boots that go inside the spark plug cavities? To prevent the rubber from getting "welded" to the head. Anybody tried it, or something similar?

I did this and it worked well when it came time to remove them, its particularly a problem with the Magnecore wires which are pretty fragile.
