Default fancy new $500 83 NA

Just picked this guy up locally for parts. 83 944, dodge dakota blue, with a broken timing belt. I'm going to be using some of the parts on my spec racer and parting the rest... so stay tuned...

Not a bad deal for 500 bucks. Body is beat up from a ditch excursion, but the wheels, front and rear valence, bumpers, and hood are all straight. Interior is not too hot, it does have a Momo wheel, and some of the other stuff is salvageable for sure, but the seats are shot. After the ditch she got all new front control arms and struts too, so those will be parted for sure. Anyway, just had to share my find...

Yes, I will be selling one of my steering wheels. The one I put in the 87 already is a black leather momo monte carlo with no contours above the spokes. I will compare the two and will definitely be selling one, including the appropriate adapter since I have two of those... leave me a PM and I'll get back to you next week when I start into this sucker.

That's a really old '83 if it has Porsche-inscribed doorpanels. Poor thing.

Is the frame damaged? I'd fix it if it runs and just needs a fender and door.

Good point - just noticed those - mind posting the build date? It is on a black sticker close to the windshield under the drivers side hood area.

If you were closer I would just buy the whole thing and fix it - early 83's should be preserved.

Well, I thought about it hard, but what I didn't post is that the body has damage on the driver side as well... it would need new doors, mirrors, front fenders, and that's just outside. The inside has shot seats, very cracked up dash, and some other flaws.

You can tell the original owner cared a lot for the car, but it was driven by a high schooler for a couple years... he was a good kid, but you know how it goes... things just don't get the same level of care.

So, it passes on so that others may live. And that my spec car might have manual steering and a non-leaky hatch. I literally just got it dropped off and have been working 14 hour days for the last 2 weeks since I have a deadline tonight at COB... very much looking forward to this weekend and getting into this car. I'll def post more details as I find them, including the build date...you've got me curious now.

Hey, that car is actually great spec car material. Dents at all looks like the ditch excursion caused cosmetic damage only.

I'm interested in that rear valence.

If I got that car for $500 I'd fix it, but I've been down that road before... parting it out is probably a good idea.
