Default I was thinking...

Be warned you must be prepared to read what may very well be a very stupid question.

Would it be possible to bore my walls out to 104mm and put 2.7L pistons in there?
Even if it were possible would that be all I needed? Or would I need some stuff to make the air/fuel right?

I just figured I'd ask before I take the crank and block to the shop.

Thanks.

first of all, when you bore it out you have to have it resealed because it is aluminum, or at least that's what I've heard.

just take it out to like 3.1ish and get aftermarket pistons for it. i think the pistons would only be like 800

HAHA, I did plan on getting it done by someone who knew what they were doing with the alusil blocks, so I would hope they dealt with the whole silicon deal.

And I was hoping if I did the block to 944S spec, I could buy some used pistons off someone.
But it doesnt make much sense to me that it would be just that easy. And it seems like I would need more fuel and air in there if the chamber were bigger...

But I figured Id ask some people who knew more than I (which applies to pretty much anyone here :-D )

why don't you just consider getting a S short block aswell as a pcm?
couldn't that be an other option?

just get some 2.7 cylinders, a 2.7 head, pay for the machine work, get the ecu to run it all correctly...or you could just buy a 2.7 motor and stick it in there. I would say not worth it since they only had like 5hp more stock anyways. Just get a kn drop in filter and a throttle cam!
