Default Coffee on Carpet....

I got a spill on my carpet with coffee one morning going to work, is there anything that helps get it out? It isn't on the rug (couldn't be that lucky) so removing and power washing is out. The fabric is a light color too, so it really sticks out.

Got a shop vac with wet suction? Wet it down, soap it up, extract, wet it down again with water, extract, wet extract, extract again, put a fan on it... forget about the spill.

Look in your local Yellow Pages under "janitorial supplies." They will have the good commercial grade stuff, unlike what you get at the local big-box stores for homeowners. What you want is a Tannin Remover for fabric and upholstery. Some places only sell in full cases (12 quarts), keep calling around until you find someone that sells individual quarts.

Follow the directions on the label exactly. Coffee stains are one of the easiest stains to remove.

oxi-clean....
I have used it to some success on a number of items. I used warm water and disolved the solution in that and applied.

I spilled a whole LARGE Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee on the passenger side floor carpet in 90 degree weather and it sat in the sun all day. I just took it to a car wash and they shampoooooood it for me. That did the trick.

I have the solution.
Don't eat or drink in your car.

Actually, it wasn't me or my car that this happened. Only thing in my car is allowed is water bottle that can only be drank from either at stop or on the highway.

I second that ,Be careful of ox-cleen. Just get some warm soapy dish detergent in a small bowl and use a small brush and start scrubbing lightly the most unnoticable place, first. Before you use something that may discolor the carpet with chemicals. Rinse often and use a shop vac to extract the water. Nick G. (((( RENNTREFFEN BUMP ))))

Don't rub it too hard. Use warm water and some non-heavy duty cleaner. If it's heavy duty you'll bleach it. Good luck.

Third on the oxi-clean...be attentive. Whats with the Dunkin' coffee trends for Porsche owners? No Cup holder therefore no cup!

Lick it up. Be careful with the Oxy-Clean. It will work but you have to remove it quickly or it will discolor the carpet. I was pissed off when I learned that the hard way.
