Ref Sensor Bad?

I ended up having to replace both the speed and ref sensors, mostly because the connectors crumbled apart in my hands when I took them apart.
At first I just did the speed sensor (the ref sensor checked out with the ohm meter, the speed sensor didn't), but the same thing was going on - Lots of cranking, no start, the tach would sometimes jump to 3k while cranking. I could get it to fire and at least stumble a bit if I held the throttle wide open while cranking.
After double checking every other possibility (fuel pressure, tps, afm) I went back to check the ref sensor, and the connector just disintegrated. After I put a new one in, the car runs like a top.

Well, in my case it was the DME. Pulled the DME and one of the leads to the power transistor was loose. Resolder and checked the board. Plugged it in started right up. I just did this a few months back. Must not put enough solder on these leads. Added some more this time. Hope it will last.
