I'd be all over that ting, V8, CCW's and all. I bet it's a terror no matter what some people think about renegades. It's by far the cheapest way to get to 'reliable' 500HP with ver little weight penalty.

I was gonna go 3.8L V6 in my car, but the Renegade kit is about $1500, plus gotta find a good long block, then gotta install it, etc...

I decided to use the DOHC Mitsu turbo motor instead... Its got porsche-licensed balance shafts so it "ok" hahaha. Will be interesting to see how it works out, the motor is 40# lighter than a 931 motor

That guy is a Metro NY PCA member and DE instructor. Very nice guy, VERY nice car. Extremely sano under the hood. And it does indeed have a corvette motor in it.

For the ultimate in unreliability combine a 4G63 with a 944. I'd hate to be the guy working on that. Mitsubishi is HORRIBLE and 944's arent exactly the king of reliability either. Seems like the WORST of both worlds IMO.

Hey man, I like a challenge

Ive run this 4G hard hard for over 6500 miles with no problems (I mean like constant rev limit banging, 16psi, runnin it hard)

Besides, the cars a race car its a LOT easier to work on, and new motors are $550... After I've blown 10 I'll have spent what one 944 Turbo motor would cost hahaha.

Ive done the jap turbo car, the kraut turbo car, now I wanna combine them. IMHO the 924 and the 4G are a perfect marriage, torquey reliable motor (6 bolt early motor) light tight handling chassis. The Talon was portly and cheap feeling but incredibly fast for cheap (13.10 @ 101mph with $1500 invested total car and mods) and the Porsche was tight good feeling and slow...

Anyway, I'll post updates as it happens. Hurry and buy my parts Im selling and it'll go faster hahaha.

Hey man, I've got one of these, so it makes me exempt:

Much love man.

i wouldnt say that the 4G63 is exactly what i'd call unreliable. it's been mitsu's proven motor for the last decade-and-then-some. like.......89-90 through what.....the evo 9? plus years of rallying and constant ricer abuse?

seems like the 4G is a little tall though, so i dont know how well it'd fit in a 944.

a while ago i think Turbo or Boost or something or other magazine had a 500-some-odd-horsepower 911 with a 4G swapped in.
