Wow - that takes a leap of faith! But Dan's method of just pulling with thumb and index finger works!

Yeah, for one of those little jobs, pulling the dial, is one of those ' h*ly ****' daunting tasks. Afterwards you'd want to invent some kind of two prong lifting tools.

And, P.S. it's like that gear is made out of a 22 year old piece of cheddar cheese... It's soft and crumbly - I'm surprised it lasted that long!

When you use the fingers method and it is really on there tight, if one finger slips off before the other then the silver needle bends over. Then if you try to straighten it, it breaks off. I found out the hard way. That was the second one I had done, the first one came right off without much pulling.

I used the writeup from Clark's garage. I think that KLA one is better.
