951 RS Progress NOW WITH VIDEO LAST POST
So she's finally half-way decent the body is on, still needs to have the rear reflectors popped out and holes welded, 968 mirrors and door handles to be installed (running thin on patience). I know you guys love pics so here ya go.
Big thanks to MPD47, testarossa, ehall, special tool & John Vitesse for words of wisdom and tasteful criticism

PS, you need to drop the rear of the car about an inch

actually about 3" all over...the suspension is close to shot...next on the list. I've lost so much weight in the rear it has a slight rake to it, when she's totally lowered it will REALLY look mean. And the stuff you told me not to do, well it made me really think about my plan of attach and car usage. trust me, its been a huge help.

First thread
Thoughts...
Shes track for now, but once i add turn signals a la 996 GT3 style, she could go on the road...but she wouldn't fit in.

Ah, nice!
Have you done anything else with the interior or did you leave it stripped?
I actually kind of like the riveted look, too. Since the car has a functional "race" look about it (not to imply that this is all about the looks), the rivets don't look out of place. If this was to be just about putting flares on a street car, then yes, that'd be kinda akward, IMHO.

Stripped for now, but thinking down the road of putting in some light weight black carpet and another 996 GT3 seat in...those things are soooo comfortable. Going to redo the dash, steering wheel and head liner in alanctra faux suede (black)..
And its the Lindsey racing 70" straight wing on 12" uprights

Lookin' good. Can't wait to see it when it is finished. But then again I have always been a sucker for modded 944/951/968 cars.
It looks like a 951 and a 993 GT2 got together and had a bastard child.

I plan to only have turn signals on the back and brake lights, and 2 small Hella driving lights incase I do accidently get stuck out after dark I can atleast see SOMETHING.
Take the headlight system out and go to 924 Carrera GTS style light covers with fixed rectangle lights, you'll save a good 20# on that deal!!! And its all on the front suspension too...
That car looks bad ***, I dont care much for the wing, but for a pure track car I understand why it's there...
I wouldn't hesitate to drive that thing on the street without the wing, as long as its 1/2 way quiet and no wing it looks like most custom cars around today, wide body, nice rims, nice paint... I personally think your rims look bad **** like that in silver, but I bet they'd look equally as bad ***, and take less maintenance for track, being powder coated gloss black with a polished or black lip... I love black wheels tho
Congrats

Socal924: Well she's anything but quiet, dumped the exhaust right after the cat....yeah she purrs REAL nice. She still has the head lights, planning on running a setup like MPD47 sooner or later depending on if I ever run her at night and getting the header panel, headlight doors and hood all one piece as to clean up some lines and help reinforce the mass when i cut her up for the intercooler duct.

sorry for the hijack, but holy sh*t, Tifo is back. First SidViscous, and now Tifo. I don't know if this is a good sign or bad
