Default Value of 924S 'clubsport'

I'm a little unsure of the value of a 924S 'clubsport' (the model with one manual side mirror and sport suspension). What are they worth in good condition?

I paid $2k for mine a couple months ago. The overall condition of the car is probably poor, but the engine and transmission are very strong with only 87k original miles. Im ok with that since Im building a track car. The county assessed its value at 1600 (NADA trade in) if that matters to you at all.

I'm interested in private party value...I would think they are worth in the $5K range for a nice car

Rust free and good (75% +) shape would be around $4500-6000 IMHO, at least thats what Ive seen them for.

I disappeared off Rennlist, but Ive still been getting Pano and watching the boards (lurkster)

damn...you guys are PROUD....yoiu would be hard pressed to get $2500 here for a MINT perfect 924s. where the heck do you guys come up with these numbers? If I could not sell a very nice S2 CAB for $7500...wtf makes you think a 924s is worth 5-6k?

I've got to agree a little with nickg. A 924S may be worth a certain amount on the books (mine is blue booked at over $3000) but I would NEVER pay that much for one. The 924 body and early dash make the car dated, regardless of mechanical condition.

It all depends on condition.
I have seen one with body damage go for $2500 buyer is everything.
I personally pay more if a machine has been taken care of etc, but I have over paid for many a Porsche® out of respect for the condition the owner kept it in.

I should move out by you then, I had a non sunroof, m030 924s. my wife drove it for a long time as a daily driver . when we sold it 5 years ago it had 78k on it and it was perfect...i had a VERY hard time getting $3500 for it....and i had to toss in a free Timing belt job and extra set of winter wheels/tires

and btw...if you find a 924s with rust, it was wrecked. I have never seen a later 82-) 944 or 924 that rusted just for the sake of rusting...they always had damage where they rusted

Nick, if my dad had let me trade up and sell my '83, I'd be paying you $7500. That was a nice car and a deal.

What I think a car is worth doesn't necessarily mean other people will think the same, I know the car is rare and so I wanted to get some more opinions about its value.

That is exactly right. 88 Special Edition should be worth about 5k in great condition. It should be worth more than a similar condition 944 form the same year. However that value is really only to those who know about these cars. For most other yahoo's out there they could not tell the difference between that car and 77 924.

Pretty sad, but true.

Then again I got luck in getting an 88 924S (regular edition) parts car for almost nothing. Great part for me is all the cool go fast stuff on for 944 spec racing.
