8x16 951 Fuchs
What is the market valve on a set of 8x16 fuchs from a '86 951? I have heard they go for a nice chunk of change. I have an extra set sitting aound with the matching 7's to go with them.

I believe 16x8s should go for around $800 for a pair. The 16x7s aren't worth as much, so you might get more by selling them seperately.
The best fuchs are 16x9 from 930s though, and go for upto $1800.

That is when you can actually find 16x9 fuchs!!! I have been keeping a look out for them to see if any come within my price range so I can swap my 8 up front and 9 in the rear. At this rate though, I think I will upgrade to 17 wheels instead.

911 boys seem to like to cherry pick the 8x16 rears for front duty on their track cars.
16x7's with the 951.xxx numbers are often tossed for scrap.Tis a pity.
$350 would have bought this real set of 951's last month....

A few days later nothing happens, and he tells me that he has been getting a lot of calls (suprise?) and was thinking about selling it to someone else. I convinced him to sell it to me.. but nothing came of it as he decided to not sell the wheels (apparently belonged to his wife).
Moral of the story is that you'll find them if you keep your eyes out, but if you do jump on them. Don't let the unknowning seller find out just how much they are worth.

The 16x8s from a 951 looks very different from a 911 16x8. The 911 part number wheel has a deeper "dish" and looks better than the 951 part number. I don't think the 911 guys use the 951 wheels because they were never made for a 911 and wouldn't be considered "original".

911 guys covet 951 8" Fuchs because they allow them to run 8" wheels up front on narrow-bodied cars (like 911SC's). The hot set-up being 8" 951 Fuchs up front and 930 9" Fuchs in the back. Plus they can run bigger brakes under them.

I guess I am used to 911 guys who want to "restore" their 911s and probably don't run them at the track. Most of them want 16x7/16x8 or 15x7/15x8 combos specifically with the 911 part numbers and walk right by the 951 set I have. I got rid of all my duplicate sets of fuchs other than 2 sets of 4 16x7s.

Yes, the 951 8's are very popular with the 911 guys. I have had a lot of 911 guys offer me $$$ for the 8's but I would much rather sell them to a 951 guy!

Now I'm seriously kicking myself for not managing to buy back my old 944... Had a set of Fuchs on it, along with a bunch of other stuff... Hell, the wheels would have paid for the buyback by themselves.
Bastards at my insurance company had the thing shipped off before I even had a shot at it.

Pelican parts is where all the 911 cats hang out because they said "f*ck it" to the RL membership fees a few years back.
That site is your best bet and you will absolutely get the most money for your wheels there.
If they are mint, start at 1000, if the anodizing has seen better days - 850.
