Default One of the first 944's is back on the road!!!

I picked this car up back in the spring. I have been working on it a little at a time to get it back road worthy. The car had not seen day light in 8yrs when I got it. The guy I got it from, had owned it since 85. It had been sitting in his garage since 98. The car is completely intact, with no mods ever. The cool thing, it had a build date of May 82. I have never seen one this old.
Somethings that are different I have not seen before. The doors do not have speakers, and do not have the cut out's for them. It has one speaker in the dash. Also, there is a hole in the head, between the #2 and #3 spark plug hole. It is about 10mm. It was not drilled in the head, the head was molded with it. Of all the 944's that have passed my way, I have never seen this before.
The seats have had seat cover on since 85, so the material is like new, but some of the stitching had rotted. It even had the original radio in it.
I think the pd's where added later on. I understood the first car either had fuchs' or cookie cutters.
Anyway, the car runs great!!! It took a little tlc to get her going, but it is a great runner.
Need to get her painted now, SO BUY SOME PARTS!!!

Good job Todd. I guess you got rid of enough parts to garage now right? Is this the car with the early vin number we talked about? I like how the early 83's had the Porsche door panels. Good looking ride you got there.

Cool, I've never seen those door panels before.

My old 924's brown carpet turned that exact shade of green, too.

Todd, you need a website where you can list your parts and prices

Todd:
My old 83 had a 7/82 build date. If the one you have his Gemini Gray, then it's the same color my 83 was. It looks close in the photos.

the outside color is the beige metallic color. I have not even looked up the color code yet!! I'm planning a compression check tomorrow. Not because of bad running, damn things runs too good!!!! I had heard that some of the first 200 cars had the euro motors in them, and according to the vin, this one would fall in that.
