944 Starting issue: Fuel pressure update
So I made a post a week or so ago about my issue. Car starts fine first thing in the morning, or after sitting all day. Within the period 30 minutes to about 4 hours after it has run, however, it wont start. Last time I posted about this, I had a strong gas smell and leakage as well. This has been corrected, as the endcap of the fuel rail was misthreaded. I retapped it and no more leakage.
Today I replaced my fuel pressure regulator, as was suggested to me by many people both on this forum and elsewhere. Same problem. No starting between that interval. I'm kind of at a loss. Can anyone make additional suggestions in light of my recent experimentation? With the gas leak, we all thought it was a pressure issue, too much pressure, something like that. Now that I have no more leakage and it still continues to not start I'm not sure what to do.
Edit: Here is the first thread, when we thought the gas leak was part of this issue https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/290684-gas-smell-vapor-lock-question-quick-responses-please.html

Once you rule out fuel pressure problems, you must next look at electrical problems. When I had this issue, it was related to the speed and reference sensor connectors. Try wiggling them next time this happens. And when you get tired of wiggling see my other thread

I haven't completely ruled out fuel pressure yet. I need to test it at different stages, like when the problem is occuring, not just regular running. I have only ruled out the fuel pressure regulator. So tests are my next best step?
