Default NEED PS rack core (well just a piece of it)

If you have a steering rack core (a rack that is useless as it is) then PM or post. I need a little snap ring and washer out of it. If you're local I can come get the whole rack or the parts I need. If you're not in CA, then I'd need you to take it apart with or without care, and get me the two pieces. It would take an hour at a normal pace...

Thanks!

Doh! I just recycled the innards of a PS rack last week!

Maybe you can offer to 'manualize' Chris's PS rack.

Just last week! NOOOO!

It's my fault for not asking sooner - I've known for 2 weeks that I need these parts. I heard about this manualizing PS rack stuff. So what exactly is done - you remove all the inner seals and o-rings but leave the outer ones on? Or something like that? Can Chris do without the snap rings and washers in the middle of the mainshaft?

Gutting a PS rack involves taking out pretty much all of the seals and everything inside (including the inner cylinder) -- leaving enough outer seals to keep the grease inside. So I think he has the parts you need.... Drop him a line.

The rack rides on the two wiper seals so if you remove them it will ride in the housing. Not good. You can bridge the two banjo connectors on the body of the rack and it should give you more road feedback (like a true manual) with your power rack.

Back on topic. I may have those two pieces you are looking for. Shoot me over an email ( travis@rennbay.com ) and I will check for you in the morning.
