I remember that article in Excellence. Still have it, of course. I love that car.
Damn. If I bought that I'd be sleeping in it. She Who Must Be Obeyed would kick my *** to the curb.

My real problem would be two-fold:
1) With such low miles, I'd hate to drive it and rack 'em up on it.
2) I'd be forever worried about an uninsured numbskull rear-ending me at a stoplight a la Rock's unhappy experience. I'd go postal and end up in The Big House for the rest of my days - over a car.

+1 there. I could never own a garage/trailer queen so it would be driven... at speeds aproaching mach 3
and yes, getting hit in that car would result in a death... it would be tragic I'd feel sorry for the car, lol!

I also remember that article and that car very well. At the time, I was looking for my first Porsche and the owner (Gary ?) who did the modifications on the white 951 and the yellow 968 was even kind enough to answer some newbie questions about his cars.

If I had 32k floating around id buy that in a second. As mentioned in the thread in the Turbo forum...
The first time it was run after the mods with the stock M030 suspension, it tore its rear flares off it squated so much!
Im visting Calgary in Sept hopefully. If it isnt sold im going to go look at it for sure.

The whole idea of not buying a garage queen because it would ruin it blah blah is quite a contraction on so many levels. If that was the case, why buy a new car with 0 on the clock? Driving it to whatever miles (>100k) would also 'ruin it' based on that assessment.
Secondly, a garage queen merely gives someone else the opportunity to purchase a near new car at a reduced cost in the future. If buyers elect to use it more often than the previous owner, so be it. Sure, I am not saying it must be used all the time, but it does allow the next owner the experience of owing the car which they probably couldn’t afford when it was new many years before.
