What im in the process of doing is putting fiberglass on back to cover hole, and then use body filler. Finally paint. I have to say, i think the car looks much better with out the reflector.

Be sure to post pics of that setup once you're done! I'm curious to see how it turns out- I like the idea, but it'll be great to see what it actually looks like.

I'm telling people that it is soooo fast that a gang of clever, surfing bank robbers used it as a get-away car. And the holes are from gun fire. Oh, yeah...it used to be white, but I could not get the blood stains out of the paint, so I had to paint it Merischino Red. Funny thing is, whenever I drive by a bank...the "!" light comes on.

I have seen rubber plugs, the weld idea is the best(requires a little body work...paint). But I would love to actually see a posted write-up.

Were those bank robbers wearing ex-president masks and being chased by an ex-football star turned undercovercop/surfer with a heart of gold under his rough exterior?

When I took my center light off it looked like someone had installed it with a chisel. Every hole was oblonged and very rough. The drill bit had walked over the paint in two places leaving ugly scars. I ended up with a temp fix of putting standard black trim plugs in the holes until I can do a real spray touch up with a detail gun. Luckily my car was black. I loath those center lights and think the rear plate mounted on the bumper looks like ***.

I learned to drive in England in the early 1980's, so the brief fad for white cars with matt black foil trim was a powerful formative experience for me at an impressionable time...

What does everybody think of this look?

Agreed, welding is best but one down side, the option sticker may be toasted in the process. Bruce

Just making sure we're discussing the same thing. The 'rear reflector' in question is an aftermarket panel that was bolted inbetween the rear lamps, where the licence plate sits. It was designed to 'connect' the rear lamps.
Your 'side of the car' comment has me thinking you are referring to the rear marker lamps in the quarter panel.

Quick Reply: rear reflector
