Here are what the the 4 holes would look like in the back after removing the rear reflector panel:

It is not a pretty sight.

I'm fairly certain it was an aftermarket add-on. Most people have bought them already installed by a previous owner and are now wanting to remove them.

I don't believe these were ever offered as a factory option- Solely an aftermarket addition as far as I know.

i have a factory option book of things that the dealer can install. Eurovalances, reflector plates and boxed rockers were in the book.

I want one to take some parts off of.
I want to put one more "grid" of lights one the rear so the red goes all the way to the lisence plate. That way there is not even any body color in the middle section. just lights then license plateand then lights.

Good or bad?

I also like the blacked out pannel on the white car with the Turbo RS wing.

Here is a picture of my reflector. I have ordered some flat black vinyl to cover it. It may last or it may not last. At least it can be peeled off to undo what I have done.

I'm wanting to cover it to make the rear of the car as invisible and nondescript as possible.

Why don't you just remove the thing instead of covering it?

Why do you want your 944 to look nondescript? That's what sets it apart from rx-7s, ford probes, mr2s, and any other common crap with flip up head lights.

My mom's 944 has the reflector. It also has a car phone antenna, and ski racks. This pic is from after I crashed it into a parked Land Rover. I miss that color.
